Dr. Alison F. Jacoby, MD

Dr. Jacoby has a good bedside manner but her surgery was too rough for me. I had undiagnosed Ehlers Danlos Syndrome at the time but didn’t know it. I had all the telltale signs, including obvious joint hypermobility. It was my fault for not knowing about the EDS but I do wish surgeons would do a quick screen for hypermobile joints as a possible indicator of Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder (HSD) and genetic connective tissue disorders like EDS and Marfans. Regardless of genetic testing, HSD and EDS are treated the same, with special precautions for intubation, head positioning, etc. If I had known about my EDS at the time of my surgery with Dr. Jacoby, I think my life might look very different today. Bottom line: I have not been the same since my surgery with Dr. Jacoby. If you have hypermobile joints, this person might not be the doctor for you. I certainly regret my choice.

Dr. Jacoby is a stellar surgeon. I have seen 2 surgeons before coming to her who said laprascopic surgery was not possible in my case. She did it! Great doctor, best bed side manners. I can't thank her enough.

Dr. Jacoby is the best surgeon. I highly recommend her for fibroid surgery.
