Stem cell therapy has been life changing due to the incredible care I have received from Dr. Wardwell. Before I explain, I just want to say that Dr. Wardwell is an extremely caring doctor, listens attentively, takes his time, and is very knowledgeable. Randy has been great when scheduling appointments and phone calls for following up with any questions/concerns. I was referred to Dr. Wardwell due to long time neck, back, hip and elbow injuries. After seeing a few highly credentialed orthopedic surgeons and various physical therapists, I was still in a lot of pain. He used an ultrasound in his office and found torn ligaments. Dr. Wardwell then advised stem cell therapy for those areas. He explained that injecting stem cells extracted from my body would regenerate the ligaments. In August 2023 I had stem cell injections for all the injuries in one visit. During the procedure, Dr. Wardwell explained what he was doing, was very attentive to how I was feeling, took his time, and was precise to target the injuries. I followed his instructions and took it easy until the soreness diminished and started to slowly strengthen the areas. I went from only limited walking prior to stem cell therapy to spending 6 weeks abroad hiking, walking hills/steps for miles and sitting on airplanes for 12 hours, pain free! Dr. Wardwell has also been treating me for digestive issues which have gotten better. He has extensive knowledge in so many areas. I appreciate how he treats the whole body and recommends treatments to support this. I am so happy to have found Dr. Wardwell!
I'll start where it all began, 8 years ago I hurt my rotator cuff, during a CrossFit workout, (kip swings). I had 1 MRI which indicated a tear. I was a week away from surgery and I cancelled.Give it to fear of being operated on or the online scary video. I reached out to Chiropractor who was changing his practice around to incorporate types of integrative therapy. Dr. K suggested PRP therapy. I did three injections and it was successful. Present day my rotator cuff is messed up again, but I had a great 8 years. I was thinking I am going to have to have surgery. New to San Francisco I began my search for an integrative doctor. I came across Dr. Wardell , researched him, read reviews one bad but she missed the point about integrative therapy. I called and got Randy on the phone within 2 ringy ringys. Randy's professionalism, demeanor and customer service offered comfort to my decision. Then I had the opportunity to meet both Dr. Wardell and Randy . Randy was the same as in person as he was on the phone. Dr. Wardell explained step by step what was doing and seeing. Ask questions because this doc has answers. When he answers, it's not with exasperation , his voice has compassion for what he does. Also, when he did the ultrasound he mentioned, I will recommend surgery if I believe Stem Cell or PRP therapy will not be effective. Now that is building trust. My rotator cuff feels better, more movement, less sleepless nights. The most important reason to recommend Dr. Wardell 's office for integrative therapy both Dr. Wardell and Randy are good trusting people.
Dr. Wardwell is an expert in regenerative medicine, and has helped me immensely! I was suffering from left low back pain for a couple years, due to a leg length discrepancy, following a serious car accident 40+ years ago, that left me with an artificial hip at age 27. Dr. Wardwell immediately zeroed in on my body mechanics and the cause of my issue. Loose hip ligaments needed to be tightened to keep my pelvis from rotating. I had developed inflammation in the facet joint ligaments of my L3, L4, and L5 vertebrae, and had significant strains in my left quadratus lumborum. I learned that PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections can heal ligaments, which do not have a blood supply. Dr. Wardwell capably performed PRP injections in order to heal hip ligaments that had become loose, and to heal the facet ligaments. He also used prolotherapy “touch up” injections as necessary. I am still in the process of healing, but things are moving in the right direction, and the injections have done wonders so far. Six months ago, I could not walk, stand or swim comfortably. Having always been an active, athletic person, it was very difficult to be in this condition, and I'm beyond grateful to have found Dr. Wardwell and this solution! Dr. Wardwell is extremely competent, patient, kind, and is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to anything related to the body -- including ergonomics and healing. On top of that, his fees are reasonable–he strives to be efficient with your time and money. Randy, his assistant, is great in handling appointment scheduling and following up with any patient needs. The two of them are a great team!
