The experience started with the sales team lying about the availability of parking. Ok, I can deal with that. Each visit felt like an opportunity for them to upsell me on additional services. When cancelling, they neglected to mention that I wasn’t canceling everything, so I kept getting bills after my membership ended. I cannot recommend this service. To clarify: the issue with parking wasn't that it was hard. The issue is that the sales team lied to me before I made the decision to join. That is unforgivable.

I went here to lose weight. The diet I was given was ultimately great plan that helped me understand why my weight loss efforts have failed in the past. And it is tailored to me, based on my lab work. They made it difficult to find vegetarian options for me, since the diet is basically keto and they don't help you very much to find plant base protein sources. I only eat meat once a week but they were not helping me find protein sources that were plant based so I had to make those adjustments without their support. My big complaint about Jumpstart MD is over how the center and business is run. The first month requires (4) 15 minute appointments. It's a waste of my time and would much rather have one long appointment, but they are very rigid and will not allow that flexibility. Also, each of my 15 min appointments was with a different nutritionist, and they all gave me direction that conflicted with one another. After that, you are continuing to pay $199 per month for just one 15 min. visit per month. To me that has no value, especially because out of 8 people I saw, only 2 of the nutritionists were actually experienced and helpful. Many were arrogant and young. I also have a complaint about the hours, as it's the only business I know of that has hours from 7am-1pm. It doesn't work for me or anyone it seems, since they are always available appointments at 7 am, but you have to wait a month to get an appointment after 8am. So I don't know why they don't take the hint and change their hours. The Embarcadero Center is extremely in-flexible with very limited appointments, and no one there answers the phone. So I decided to drive across town to the Laurel Heights office, and that is slightly better. Lastly, they say they bill insurance, but it was billed incorrectly so they didn't pay. I have asked 3 times and called several times. They keep telling me someone from billing would get back to me, but no one ever calls me back.

I am very happy with my experience at jumpstartmd so far. I have lost more weight than I ever have on my own. I'm still working on losing more though. The weekly appointments are super helpful and keep me accountable. I learn something new every week that helps me better myself on this journey. From the front desk to the all of the doctors and nurses. Everyone is polite, kind, and understanding. This program has been very helpful to me.
