Dr Akhter came highly recommended by a practitioner friend and colleague and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I finally made the call and set up the appointment with him. He is kind, thorough, and took the time to understand my health history to get to the bottom of what was happening, not simply mask my symptoms with quick fix meds. WOW! After one visit and beginning Progesterone a week ago, I am a new person! I am sleeping great, feel more energetic throughout the day, and my mood has seen a major improvement (my family noticed and started talking about how much happier I seemed by day 2-3!). It’s been very encouraging that not only do I feel results, but my family sees the changes as well. I came to Dr. Akhter after experiencing some new and concerning symptoms that were slowly snowballing and becoming more and more debilitating. He listened to me. He used my symptoms and health history to order targeted bloodwork, and then went through it all with me. He explained the correlations between each, and showed me where, while the numbers weren’t necessarily flagged as low, taken together indicated a deficiency. He offered me options and empowered me to make changes in diet and lifestyle that have helped relieve my symptoms even without an official diagnosis. He provided a thought-out plan of care that included future check-ins on progress, and between those official check-ins he has responded promptly to my questions via email. One of the most reassuring things about Dr. Akhter, though, is his confidence that he can get me through this by following his suggestions - no shrugging his shoulders and putting the burden of my care on the next unnamed specialist.
