A family member has been under his guidance for over a decade now. He has been a God sent doctor for us who listens patiently, guides very well and treats with care as if the patient is his own family member as he recommends right approaches and not just surgery. During all these years he has helped the family member with recurrence of the disease. We truly understood the value of Dr. Blevins when we went to Mayo Clinic for second advise. The doctor at Mayo was surprised that we as his patients were coming to Mayo. As per the doctor, she takes guidance from Dr. Blevins on critical cases as he is the best doctor when it comes to his area of expertise.

Dr Blevins actually seemed to agree with me on the flaws of endo testing for Cushing’s Disease, however his one and done 24hr saliva sample as the gold standard for ruling it out with a patient is just so many kinds of wrong! He says he believes in cyclical Cushing’s but says he’s only seen 1 case of it. I don’t care what you call it but I had cyclical Cushing’s disease and am now in remission because of Dr Friedman and superb surgery with Dr Linksey at UCI. UCSF could be doing more for this community, but as with the rest of the US endo community is sadly behind. Don’t waste your time if you think you’re episodic.

Dr. Blevins basically saved my life subsequent to neurosurgery for a Rathke's cyst that is on the optic nerve. He discovered IGF-1 deficiency and also put me on a low dose of dexamethasone due to adrenal failure. These two hormones really made a HUGE difference in my quality of life. I was sleeping 20-22 hours per day prior to getting the dexamethasone. And I had become very fat around the middle, walking around in a MAJOR brain fog, major depression, loss of interest in many things - due to not having IGF-1 in my body. Most doctors do not even treat these conditions - probably do not know they exist. He also prescribes my thyroid medication. If there is ever a concern, he gets back to me within a day or two. I will be forever grateful that he took the time to get my body working better. He and his PA, Gwen Stanhope, have advocated for me to get the IGF-1 deficiency medication. I couldn't ask for a better doctor or PA. Gwen Stanhope retired, but her replacement is also outstanding.
