I never ever leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience because of how much this has affected me. I’ve been going to this office for a while now, and my main provider, Miranda Minter, has been absolutely wonderful. No bad things to say! She always listened to my symptoms, ran bloodwork, and genuinely cared about finding the root cause of my issues. For a while, she was treating me for estrogen dominance, which helped a little but didn’t fully resolve things. Because of that, she referred me to their endometriosis specialist, Jennifer Bienemann, for further evaluation. After years of searching for a doctor who would actually listen to me and try to help (and not just put a band-aid on my symptoms) I was REALLY excited to be moving forward. I’ve always been very clear that I do not want to use birth control. I’ve said from my very first appointment that my goal is to heal my body from the inside out, not to mask the symptoms with synthetic hormones. That’s actually one of the reasons I chose Vibrant Health! Their website emphasizes using functional medicine to focus on root causes rather than prescriptions. Unfortunately, my experience with Jennifer was the complete opposite of what I expected. From the beginning, she had me briefly list my general symptoms but didn’t go into any depth or ask follow-up questions. She brushed everything off as a simple hormone imbalance, even after I explained that I had already been treated for that and that Miranda was referring me to her specifically to rule out (or diagnose) endometriosis. Instead of discussing that further, she immediately jumped into recommending a “pill” that would “balance my hormones and help with the pain.” Therefore, implying that it would heal me and fix my symptoms. It wasn’t until I specifically stopped her and asked, “Wait-- are you talking about birth control?” that she confirmed yes, it was. I was shocked that she never disclosed that up front. She just kept referring to it as a “prescription” or “pill” that would fix my problems, without telling me what it actually was. I had to ask to gain that knowledge. Even worse, she never once asked: A) If I’ve had prior bad experiences with birth control B) If I have any reactions to it C) if I’m trying to conceive (which I am, in the near future. So, BC would have wrecked my near future plans.) I had made it clear from the beginning that I didn’t want to use birth control. Yet, after I said no, she continued to list other types I could try. At that point, I completely lost trust. I stayed polite and said I’d “think about it” just to end the appointment, but I left frustrated, disappointed, and super upset. Not only did she not listen to me, but she didn’t even discuss endometriosis. That was the whole reason I was referred to her. I had to prompt the questions myself, and even then, her answers were vague and dismissive. After everything, I left with no real help, no progress, and no trust in the person who was supposed to guide me toward healing. For a clinic that promotes functional medicine and “Utilizes functional medicine to focus on root causes to improve health rather than using prescriptions to treat symptoms" (yes, this is pulled directly from Vibrant Health's website), this experience felt like the complete opposite. I shouldn’t have to fight this hard for a provider to listen, respect my wishes, and treat me as a person instead of a checklist. I’m still in pain, still searching for answers, and back to square one. Now I am searching for a new practice in hopes that one day, I will feel better and have an incredible doctor who is not dismissive about my concerns and pressures me about birth control. But I do want to say again that Miranda Minter was incredible, and she genuinely cared. I just wish the rest of the experience had lived up to what this office claims to stand for.
I’ve been seeing Michelle Sanders for the last few years. My experience with her has been only positive. Very knowledgeable, compassionate, respectful of patient’s preferences. I have no complaints about the practice as a whole. They have same day appointments available for urgent issues and a patient portal for easier access to records and communication. Overall, would highly recommend.
I have met with Miranda, Michelle and Abby for different reasons. I loved all of them. Most providers don’t listen to concerns but they do and have found the root cause to a lot of GI issues. Definitely planning to keep them as my primary care. My only negative of this office is that is it very difficult to get in contact with someone medical between appointments. Front desk is great and the providers reply to the chat function in the chart, but I’ve called the medical line several times and no one has ever answered for me. I left a message but never got a call back regarding that message. Otherwise, it’s a welcoming office that truly digs into your medical concerns.
