Endocrinology At Beth Israel

Unfortunately, my experiences with the endocrinology department here over the past few years have been disappointing. A few years ago, I had two appointments where I was told there was nothing to discuss - only to find out later that I was never informed about the required pre-visit lab work. I decided to give the department another try this year, but once again, the lab missed running the full blood panel, and I had to return for another blood draw after a long 1.5-hour commute. It’s frustrating to make multiple trips due to preventable administrative errors. I hope they improve their communication and processes.

I was referred to BIDMC through HUHS but I will attest to all these other reviews. DO NOT GO HERE. I was under the care of Zachary Taxin and he was condescending, patronizing, and constantly pressured me to do treatments I was not comfortable with (I would later find out that I never had to have these treatments done). He also scheduled an appointment without notifying me and I found out I had an appointment the day of because I received a call??? Not only this but when I finally relented and decided to go through with the treatment, he told me he would send me an email but he never did. I even called him asking for follow up and by that point I was so sick of it I transferred.

If you can reach a receptionist to make an appointment and not have it cancelled, then the doctors are good. Minimum 2 emails and 3 phones messages each time I try to make an appointment.
