Kaplan Center for Integrative Medicine

The Kaplan center has changed my life! I had chronic pain, fatigue, and fevers for months with no help from doctors as to what was wrong. They ran so many tests and told me it was anxiety. The PA Nidi Reva was the first physician to take me seriously. Within a month she found out I had babesiosis through blood tests. I went through an intense treatment through the Kaplan center for 3 months, and now I am parasite free. I went from having to leave university and being bedridden to going back to school full time. I have my life back, and Nidi Reva is to thank for that! The Kaplan center is definitely the most welcoming and compassionate medical facility I’ve ever been to! I’m forever grateful for them!

I just started going to the Kaplan Center after dealing with long COVID for 2 years; no one has been able to help me until now. My GP and other doctors and specialists I saw were not able to help me, and I felt like I was being dismissed. I felt extremely frustrated and had very little hope, and then my husband told me about the Kaplan Center, as a friend of his is being seen for treatment of chronic pain. The staff at the front desk were so welcoming and so friendly, and I immediately had hope that I would have some answers and treatment; I am seeing Nidhi Reva, and she is wonderful - extremely thorough and extremely compassionate and caring, and the best health practitioner I have ever seen. I also started getting acupuncture with Rebecca, and she is absolutely wonderful; I had never had acupuncture before, and she explained everything to me and was so sweet and compassionate. Between the medications I was prescribed, the supplements I purchased there, and the acupuncture, I feel that am finally on the path to recovery from long COVID; I am finally feeling starting to feel like myself again, and I am very optimistic that I will be healthy and happy again. Even though I have just started going to the Kaplan Center, I cannot say enough good things about it!

Now the Bad News After my 2nd Vaccine Shot I immediately had a burning down my arm I knew something wasn’t right. I went home and that night I woke up my whole body was having convolutions witch let in to a really bad headache the worst I have ever had I couldn’t see straight. We had to take my son to his doctor and my wife drove and I asked what’s happening to me I feel like I’m dying they said its normal and my body is building immunity. All I could say was I didn’t like her normal. The next few months were hell between the runs headaches then the left side of my face went numb felt like I was having my wisdom teeth pulled out the hole side of my face was numb. That went away after 4 weeks but then I woke up and I couldn’t move my right arm I could move my fingers but not my shoulder it was frozen. I went to the doctors and they did and MRI and a cat scan and said I needed surgery to fix. In between then I started having blackouts. I would be driving and it was like I blinked my eyes and I didn’t know where I was going or even where I was. This is a very scary feeling of hopelessness. They operated on my shoulder and then a few weeks later I woke up and couldn’t straighten my leg it was locked in place. I forced it and with a snap it seemed to break free but then it happened again and again until the pain was unbearable when back to the orthopedic specialist and after an MRI he said I needed surgery again but after this surgery I was in so much pain I couldn’t walk the a few weeks later I felt like a horse kicked me in the chest. But after a few minutes I seemed ok just really tired and then I collapsed my wife and son got me to the car and took me to the hospital and at 1st they said I was having a heart attack but when they gave me the 2nd dose of nitroglycerin I started to expire (yes my heart stoped). They gave me a shot which brought me back but then they didn’t want to touch me after that. They then transported me to Mount Vernon Hospital Critical care unit. There the heart doctor said I have Myocarditis I never heard of it before then. I seemed to recover ok but still could barely walk. The doctors ended up cutting the bone and doing a knee replacement this seem to help but I could not put any weight on that knee the pain was over the top. This was all my right side of my body. I think I over did it trying to work because my left knee started hurting during this it was / is hard to concentrate or stay focused and I was still having occasional black outs. I started taking all whole lot of over the counter supplements for over 2 years I was using a walker and or cane. I have tried to keep the business open but it’s been a struggle at times. I’m blessed to have such great customers I tell everyone I’m a functioning cripple ( LOL ) I haven’t had a black out in a while the headaches still come and go and some days my legs hurt Sooo bad I can’t begin to explain. That being said I’m Blessed to have a wife that hasn’t given up on me and has kept a roof over our families head. Pfizer ruined my life and I was ready ( yes I basically gave up on living. I just wanted the pain to end. I was denied disability because of the shot. I ask people to Please be patient. This is my rant I love helping people and miss doing normal daily thing.) After I got the pfizer shot I became deathly sick. Nidhi saved my life! When no other doctor would listen Nidhi took the time to listen and help me. God Bless Nidhi!
